God Smile on you..

April 21st, 2010 12 comments

Noah was a pleasure to the Lord. God said, “This guy brings me pleasure. He makes me smile. I’ll start over with his family.” Because Noah brought pleasure to God, you and I are alive today. From his life we learn the five acts of worship that make God smile.

- God smiles when we love him supremely.
- God smiles when we trust him completely.
- God smiles when we obey him wholeheartedly.
- God smiles when we praise and thank him continually.
- God smiles when we use our abilities.  ~ taken from The Purpose Driven Life.

May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. Numbers 6:25 (NLT).

A Strong Faith

Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness. Colossians 2:7 (NLT)

I have been reminded by this verse.

Don’t live carelessly, unthinkingly. Make sure you understand what the Master wants. Ephesians 5:17 (The Message)

Job 12:13-16 : “With Him are wisdom and strength,He has counsel and understanding. If He breaks a thing down, it cannot be rebuilt; If He imprisons a man, there can be no release. If He withholds the waters, they dry up; If He sends them out, they overwhelm the earth. 6 With Him are strength and prudence. The deceived and the deceiver are His.

Pride comes nothing but trouble..

By pride comes nothing but strife;
But with the well-advised is wisdom.
Proverbs 13:10 NKJV

Pride is behind every dispute that results in strife. The pride spoken of in this verse is referring to one being arrogant and proud. If two people are unyielding and arrogant when they disagree about something, it will always produce argument and trouble. If we desire to get along with others, we must humble ourselves and not take the opinion that we are better or smarter than others. We may be right in a situation and yet act in a wrong manner, thus defeating our position.

As he thinks in his heart, so is he..

It’s WFW again and I love it. It’s like I am creating my memory verse, meditation and graphic of the week. This week WFW hosted at extravagantgrace.

wfw_as-he-thinks

I began meditating this verse in 2006 when I was pregnant with my 2nd child. I was so worried about my pregnancy that I have to comfort myself and what better way to do it with the word of God. I found this verse really connected with my situation at that time and in fact this is one of my memory verses during my labor.

We often struggles with fear or anxieties and these are two examples of strongholds. In order to begin to take authority over our thought life we need to be aware about what we allow into our minds and what we allow ourselves to dwell on. For instance, when we start analyze our situation it can bring worry, doubt, confusion and can alter the way we think about that situation. It then becomes easy for the negatives to be enlarged and consequently these thoughts overpower and damage our faith in God. Whatever we meditate on will have a hold and control of our life. For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. It therefore follows that if we focus on a problem, it will magnify but if we focus on God, He will be magnified.

Knowing this, why allow all the negatives to be magnified? And why allow the enemy devil the right to continue to enforce them?

Beautiful Monday #1

May 18th, 2009 2 comments

As usual hubby wakes up at 5.30 am to prepare A to school. I started my Monday by waking up at 6.00 am. Prepare A breakfast had a little chat with him on the table. His Year one first term exam starts today. My saying goodbye to him followed by prayer that God would refresh and fills his heart with joy and peace.I inspired myself with a beautiful worship song “Majesty”. I have been inspired by these songs during the church worship yesterday Sunday. Thanks Abbot for the inspiring and beautiful selection of Sunday worship song. I was so charged up yesterday during the worship that I don’t want the worship to end. The sermon is so simple and yet relevant and meaningful.

Ok..So I started my house work by cleaning and sweeping the floor follow by laundry. Baby C wakes up at 8.30 am had a little peek on him and say hello. He response with a smile and starts cooing and playing with his fingers and feet while I continue my stuff.

9.30 am my girl B wakes up and play with baby C. Breastfeed baby C while singing Majesty song to him. Pick up my guitar, tune it a bit and there I am singing Majesty while playing the guitar. Thanks to my audience B and baby C. As I type this post baby C is sound asleep and B is playing with her starfall on the other computer. We dedicate one computer for the kids to play with. Mummy has one and daddy got his laptop so we do not argue and quarrel with one computer and thanks to hubby for setting up the wireless network at home.

My conclusion: Starting your Monday, day or week with a positive attitude does make a difference with your day. I know some people label Monday as a black Monday. One thing for sure you start your day with a negative thought or attitude and you can expect your whole day with a black day. Find your own motivation or inspiration to start your day. I end my post with Majesty lyrics and my all time favorite verse “This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it”.
Psalm 118:24

Majesty (Here I Am)
Here I am humbled by your Majesty
Covered by your grace so free
Here I am, knowing I’m a sinful man
Covered by the blood of the Lamb

Now I’ve found the greatest love of all is mine
Since you laid down your life
The greatest sacrifice

Majesty, Majesty
Your grace has found me just as I am
Empty handed, but alive in your hands
Majesty, Majesty
Forever I am changed by your love
In the presence of your Majesty

Here I am humbled by the love that you give
Forgiven so that I can forgive
Here I stand, knowing that I’m your desire
Sanctified by glory and fire

Now I’ve found the greatest love of all is mine
Since you laid down your life
The greatest sacrifice

What a beautiful Monday to start my week. How’s your beautiful Monday?

Praise

April 30th, 2009 2 comments

Praise lifts our eyes from the battle to the victor. Praise drives away frustration, tension, depression and fear. Praise cleanses the atmosphere, get rid of all the smog and fog so that we can see clearly who is in control. Our focus is drawn from the complexity of the problem to the adequacy of God’s infinite resources.”
